I have recently been in Northern France, exploring their Remembrance Trail. Places like Beaumont Hamel, Vimy Ridge, Flanders and others. While we didn’t have sunshine – and what travel can guarantee that – my colleagues and I experienced a tiny insight into the misery and discomfort of the generation involved in WWI trench warfare.
More photos and comment will come shortly.
For now, I post this photo of barbed wire. And poppies. In a Flanders field.
